Is Subway open or closed on Easter Sunday 2025?

According to CBS News, if you have a craving for a Subway sandwich, you’re in luck. Subway is open on Easter Sunday.

It’s not the only fast food restaurant with Easter hours, either. According to CBS News, McDonald’s, Dunkin’, Starbucks, Taco Bell, and Wendy’s are also open.

Jimmy John’s is also open on Easter, according to Axios.

Some retail establishments are closed on Easter, however, including Costco, Aldi, and Target, although Walmart and Walgreens stores are open.

Easter falls on April 20, 2025.

Of course, some people won’t have room in their stomachs for submarine sandwiches with all of the candy people eat on Easter.

According to Parade, Easter is a big candy holiday, as well as a religious occasion for some people, with 90 million chocolate bunnies produced each year,

However, more candy is sold on Halloween.

Parade also offered a list of other Easter trivia points. The first colored Easter egg was red, the church once banned eating eggs on Easter Sunday, Americans eat 16 billion jelly beans each year, and in Switzerland, a cuckoo brings eggs and candy to kids, according to Parade.

According to Pioneer Woman, a fox brings eggs to kids in Westphalia, Germany on Easter. Pastel colors for eggs derived from religious tradition, according to that site.

“Baby blue, mint green, light yellow, and soft pink all carry meaning of the rebirth and renewal of life that occurs in spring,” according to Pioneer Woman. “Green represents hope and eternal life.
