The last time the Spurs played the Knicks was on Christmas, where San Antonio received a lump of coal in the form of a 114-117 loss despite a 42 point game from Victor Wembanyama. Victor won’t be playing tonight, but Jeremy Sochan, who scored 21 in the loss, should play tonight. Tonight’s game was supposed to be the fourth game of a five game home stand, but that streak of home game got broken up by a makeup game on Monday night in Los Angeles, so instead the Spurs are on yet another hectic travel week as they will play the final 15 games of the season over 24 days. They say there’s no rest for the wicked, so Chris Paul should start all 82 games this season for the Silver and Black.
At this point in the season, there’s not a lot to say about the Spurs, except to hope that Devin Vassell continues to show his talent on both ends of the court, and that Castle can lock up the ROTY competition with another good performance. Keldon Johnson is continuing to be a force off the bench, and it’s always fun to watch guys like Blake Wesley and Sandro Mamukelashvili make great plays and occasional bloopers on the court. Karl-Anthony Towns will be a problem for the Spurs mini-bigs, so he should have a big night, unless he plays limited minutes. Jalen Brunson is out tonight, which is a break for the Spurs, but former Spur (in name only) Cam Payne might want to have a big night against the team he refused to play for.
Game Prediction:
Steph Castle blocks Cam Payne at least twice.
One final word:
GO SPURS GOOOO!!!
