Even without Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics proved to be too much for the Orlando Magic during Game 2 action on Wednesday night inside TD Garden. Jaylen Brown led all scorers with 36 points as the Celtics defeated the Magic 109-100 to take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series of the first round of the NBA Playoffs. Brown added a game-high 10 rebounds in the win and was 5-for-6 from behind the arc. Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford also finished with 10 rebounds. Orlando’s Paolo Banchero finished with 32 points. Game 2 on Wednesday saw the Celtics play without Jayson Tatum who was ruled out with a bone bruise in his right wrist. The injury occurred during Game 1 last Sunday following a hard fall late in the fourth quarter during Boston’s 103-86 win over Orlando. Orlando’s Kentavious Caldwell-Pope struggled from the 3-point line, failing to convert any from six attempts. Franz Wagner finished with 25 points despite shooting 1-for-7 from the 3-point line. Game 3 is scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m. at the Kia Center. The game will air on ESPN.
