Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of the most outspoken survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators, claims she has four days left to live. In an Instagram post from Sunday, Giuffre wrote that she was involved in a car accident with a speeding school bus that allegedly resulted in kidney failure.
“This year has been the worst start to a new year,” Giuffre wrote under a photo of herself seemingly covered in bruises. “I won’t bore anyone with the details but I think it important to note that when a school bus driver comes at you driving 110km as we were slowing for a turn that no matter what your car is made of it might as well be a tin can.” Giuffre went on, “I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, they’ve given me four days to live, transferring me to a specialist hospital in urology,” she wrote. “I’m ready to go, just not until I see my babies one last time, but you know what they say about wishes.” She added, “Thank you all for being the wonderful people of the world and for being a great part of my life.”
Giuffre has been battling Epstein and his network, which she says trafficked her beginning when she was 16, in court for years. She first came forward about her experience in the Daily Mail back in 2011, alleging she had been recruited by Ghislaine Maxwell in 2000 while working at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort and spent the next few years being abused by Epstein and others while caught up in his sex-trafficking circle. Two years earlier, she had settled a $500,000 sexual-abuse lawsuit against Epstein, which was unsealed in 2022. She also sued Maxwell — who is serving a 20-year sentence after being convicted of child sex trafficking — for defamation and settled in 2017. In 2021, Giuffre filed a civil claim against Prince Andrew, a former friend of Epstein’s, who she says raped her while she was being trafficked by Epstein and his associates. Andrew has denied the allegations, but he too settled his case with Giuffre in 2022. The financial terms have not been made public, but tabloids and legal experts have estimated it was somewhere around $13 million.
Back on Instagram, the details of Giuffre’s recent accident are unclear. The Cut has reached out to her and will update this post if we hear back.
