Jess Hilarious Calls Out Loren LoRosa’s Extended Guest Host Role On ‘The Breakfast Club’

Jess Hilarious has never been one to hold back, and now she’s shedding light on the behind-the-scenes tension happening at The Breakfast Club. The comedian and media personality, who officially joined as the show’s third host in 2024, isn’t mincing words — as she revealed she felt blindsided by certain changes upon returning from maternity leave, particularly regarding guest host Loren LoRosa.

The Baltimore star recently took to Instagram Live to air her frustrations with LoRosa’s extended guesting as well as her co-hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy. Jess made it known that she felt unsupported by her team, following harsh comments comparing LoRosa’s presence on the show to her’s.

The sentiments on her hosting style were also brought up by comedian Corey Holcomb who suggested that The Breakfast Club found someone “talented” to replace her while she was away. “She got that job because I think she had a social media presence, I can’t imagine why else,” he jabbed. “I always said she wasn’t talented. She got the job and got knocked up shortly afterwards. And the worst thing in the world happened, they brought in somebody talented.”

Instead of calling out Holcomb in her rant, Jess focused more on her co-hosts for allegedly not having her back.

“We supposed to be a team, but not one person comes to my defense at all, ever,” she vented in her video. “With this online sh*t. I feel played with, so I’m gonna play with gas. I’ve been quiet a lot.” Despite speculation, Jess made it clear that she’s still very much a part of The Breakfast Club crew but did initially resent LoRosa’s presence. Over time, she admitted that her issue wasn’t with LoRosa but with how things were being handled behind the scenes.

“‘Nah it ain’t even you I don’t like,’ I’m realizing,” Jess shared. “It’s the way these ni**as is doing sh*t up here.” She also accused the show of painting her as a “villain” simply for seeking clarity about her role upon returning.

The candid moment led Jess to defend her predecessor, Angela Yee, who left the show in 2022 after 13 years. While Yee’s departure was met with mixed reactions, Jess said that she now sees why Yee left. “Angela Yee ain’t that motherf**king crazy,”* she stated. “Not as crazy as ni**as try to make her out to be. There’s a reason that lady wanted to leave that show… I don’t know how she did that sh*t for 13 years.”

On today’s episode of TBC (March 19), Jess addressed her IG video live on-air with Charlamagne and DJ Envy where she further explained her stance.

“How I pick her to fill in for me, and when I come back she ain’t never leave,” she began about Loren LoRosa. “Nobody had a problem with Jess With The Mess, until she started reading right.” Jess also added that she doesn’t have a problem with LoRosa joining as a fourth host, but she doesn’t like that the reporter still gives news takes during her signature segment, and would prefer if LoRosa had her own.

Defending both women, Charla and Envy gave Jess advice to stay out of the comments and to be confident in what she brings to the table. As for LoRosa, the co-hosts gave her credit for bringing a more journalistic approach to the show.
