Lamar opened with the live debut of GNX standout “wacced out murals” along with “squabble up,” followed by To Pimp a Butterfly staples like “King Kunta” and “ELEMENT.” From there, SZA took the spotlight with a run of Ctrl favorites including “Love Galore,” “Broken Clocks,” and “The Weekend,” before the two came together for the first time for “30 for 30.”
Lamar’s subsequent acts mixed newer material (including the Drake diss track “euphoria,” “dodger blue,” and “man at the garden,”) and past albums like DAMN. (“HUMBLE.,” “DNA.,” “LOVE.”), good kid, m.A.A.d city (“Swimming Pools,” “Poetic Justice,” “Money Trees”), and Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers (“Count Me Out,” “N95”). SZA countered with highlights from both Ctrl and SOS—including “F2F,” “Shirt,” “Kill Bill,” and “Saturn.” Their collaborative acts featured performances of “Doves in the Wind,” “All the Stars,” and “LOVE.”
The final acts of the evening saw Lamar perform the unreleased song “Bodies,” “tv off,” and his chart-topping Drake diss track “Not Like Us” — the latter featuring a pre-recorded intro in which Lamar appears to sit for a deposition, a nod to the ongoing legal drama involving the Toronto rapper. The night concluded with two final joint performances with SZA: “luther” and “gloria.”
As mentioned, their performance at the U.S. Bank Stadium on Saturday night marked the beginning of Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s joint 2025 tour, which continues through the spring and early summer. It’s the first all-stadium tour for both artists, and arrives after a particularly big period for the former labelmates: Lamar surprise-dropped his 2024 album GNX to critical acclaim, won multiple Grammys for “Not Like Us,” and headlined the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime show, while SZA offered the deluxe album Lana, joined Lamar at the Super Bowl, and made her film debut with One of Them Days alongside Keke Palmer.
Lamar and SZA will next brings the “Grand National Tour” to Houston, followed by dates in Dallas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and many more. They’ll finish out the North American run in Landover, Maryland on June 18th before heading across the Atlantic in early July for a UK/EU leg.
