Kendrick Lamar Mocks Drake’s ‘Drop, Drop’ Adlib on Tour

Kendrick Lamar mocked Drake’s “drop drop” adlib from “Family Matters” during a recent stop of his stadium tour.

The rapper was in Minnesota for his first stop on the Grand National Tour (with SZA) when he played a pre-recorded scene on a screen at U.S. Bank Stadium. In it, he’s sitting in a chair while an “attorney” can be heard saying, “Sunday, Feb. 9.”

Lamar responds with “I don’t keep up with the dates,” prompting the attorney to say then, “Ok, does this ring a bell? Drop. Drop. Drop. Drop….”

After the reference to Drake’s legendary adlib from his “Family Matters” diss to Lamar, the screen went black, and the infamous opening “Not Like Us” line “Psst, I see dead people,” gets whispered to the crowd.

Lamar also performed “Euphoria” during the tour stop, letting the world know that although the diss track releases may have slowed down, there’s still smoke in the air between him and Drizzy.

It’s wild to think that last year around this time, Drake was practically sticking a fork into a plug outlet by taunting Lamar to respond to his “Push Ups” diss track. On Apr. 19, 2024, Drake dropped “Taylor Made Freestyle” in which he used AI to create verses from 2Pac and Snoop Dogg, basically begging Lamar to drop a diss against Drake.

In Tupac’s verse, Drake, as the California legend, calls Lamar the “West Coast Savior” and suggests he disses Drake by saying how he likes young women. In Snoop Dogg’s verse, Drake suggests that Lamar’s never done anything violent, but now it’s time to make a power move.

Hilariously, a few weeks before that diss dropped last year, OVO Chubbs dared Lamar to drop a diss by writing to Adin Ross on his Instagram Stories, “Tell That Little Boy Drop!!! But He Won’t. He Knows Better.”

Fast forward back to today, history shows that Lamar didn’t know better — and he didn’t need robo versions of rap’s elite to push him into action. Lamar put out multiple diss tracks, pushing Drake to sue Universal Music Group for their part in supporting the former’s masterclass in his lyrical ass whooping.
