With 17:01 remaining in the first half, Andrew Carr made a free throw to tie the game at four a piece.
With 12:12 remaining in the first, Tennessee went on a 7-0 run, which included a Darlinstone Dubar three-pointer.
Collin Chandler hit a three at the end of the first half.
Tennessee led, 43-28, going into the break.
The Vols remained on top the rest of the game.
One of the key statistics from the game was bench points. Tennessee’s bench outscored Kentucky’s bench, 23-6.
Jordan Gainey had 16 points for the Volunteers off of the bench.
Kentucky was led by Lamont Butler, who finished the game with 18 points and six rebounds.
UK ends year one of the Mark Pope era with its first Sweet 16 appearance since 2019 and a 24-12 overall record on the season.
