Kid Rock Talks Up Donald Trump’s Dinner With Bill Maher: “Everyone Was So Surprised, So Pleasant”

Kid Rock said that Donald Trump‘s dinner at the White House with Bill Maher was “so pleasant” and that the conversation “included things we had in common,” like “ending wokeness” and securing the border.

“The president was asking him about policy, what is going on with Iran and Israel, it just kind of blew my mind,” Kid Rock said on Fox & Friends this morning.

The dinner took place at the White House on Monday evening, after the singer appeared in the Oval Office for an event to sign an executive order addressing inflated concert ticket resale prices.

Also joining the dinner was Dana White, the CEO of Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Kid Rock said that Trump took the group up to the private residence to see the Lincoln Bedroom and to see a copy of the Gettysburg Address. He said that he saw the visit as Trump “extending this olive branch.” Kid Rock also said that he thought that Maher had never been to the White House, but the comedian interviewed Barack Obama in the Roosevelt Room in 2016.

Kid Rock said that he told Maher before the meeting, “Some of this Hollywood stuff. It would be great for you to get thrown out. It would probably be great for you to double down. You know, ‘I can’t stand this guy.’”

Maher, Kid Rock said, told him, “I’m not going to sabotage something that could potentially bring us and other people together.”

A representative for Maher did not return a request for comment.

Trump famously sued Maher after he joked that he would give $5 million to charity if he could prove that he was not “the spawn of his mother having sex with an orangutan.” The lawsuit was later dropped.
