Kylie Kelce ‘doesn’t care’ what you think of her new baby’s name

Baby girl Kelce No. 4 has finally arrived — and even made her podcast debut — but it took a long time for Kylie Kelce and her retired NFL star husband, Jason Kelce, to come up with the perfect name for their new addition. In fact, she was nameless for 24 hours after her birth.

The couple ultimately chose the name Finnley “Finn” Anne Kelce. She joins big sisters Wyatt Elizabeth, 5, Elliotte Ray, 4, and Bennett Llewellyn, 2.

Kylie discussed the origin of her new baby’s name in a clip from the April 3 “postpartum special” version of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast.

“We had discussed names with anyone that we could trust to not share names,” Kylie said. “We didn’t go with a single option that we had been discussing.”

Yet Finn had been a favorite name for the Kelces for a while.

“The name Finn was not one of the names that we were discussing with other people, but came back around because it was a serious contender for Elliotte’s name,” she explained. “Considering we had to name four children with the same gender, we had to run it back to the archives, borrow one from a different child and that’s what we did.”

The baby’s middle name, Anne, honors multiple people in their lives: Kylie’s grandmother, her sister, her two cousins and fellow Eagles wife Annie Elliott.

“We packed it all into one middle name, and I feel good about that,” Kylie said.

She had spoken about the difficulty of choosing a name on previous episodes of her podcast.

“Going on fourth, it’s like a disaster,” Kylie said on the Jan. 9 episode. “You’ve already used them all up. All bets are off.”

She noted that she considered the name Charlie for her oldest but abandoned the idea when three other friends named their new babies Charlie.

Kylie wanted to make sure that Finn’s name worked well with her big sisters’ names.

“We’re doing a little crossover action,” Kylie said at the time. “I feel like we have to lean a little bit toward those sort of gender-neutral names for our fourth because we have Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett. So, if we do a full commit to a girly name at this point, it would not sit well with the other three, I think. Eventually, they’ll be like, ‘Why did they get a cute girly name?’”

On the Jan. 23 episode of “Not Gonna Lie,” Kylie acknowledged all the name suggestions that fans had been submitting.

“What I will say in response to that is: When you suggest a baby name, think of the nicknames that would then go along with that name,” she said at the time. “I cannot name my daughter Garrett knowing that her nickname would be Gary.”

Similarly, Kylie wasn’t interested in the name Merritt. “I like Christmas but I don’t need to feel Merry,” she said.

“There’s a good chance that this child doesn’t even get two Ts,” she said. “I just feel like a curveball might be fun. And also … we’ve run out I think. So just prepare yourselves. If we don’t have two Ts, it’s OK and she’s still one of us.”

On the clip previewing April 3’s podcast, Kylie acknowledged that some people might be salty that Finn’s name is, in fact, missing that one common element.

“All the people who are going to be triggered by the fact that this name does not have two Ts: I warned you!” she said.

Unsurprisingly, Kylie appeared content with the baby’s name and and doesn’t seem to mind if it isn’t universally loved.

“I totally respect your opinion on the names of our children. You’re allowed to have your own opinion, but I actually don’t care what it is,” the new mom said. “And I mean that in the most loving and respectful way. We named them and it’s official. Also, she’s very much a Finn. Like, she’s a cute little Finn.”
