MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A tornado passed through northeast across counties in Arkansas on Friday night.
According to the National Weather Service, the large and extremely dangerous tornado was near Swifton, 11 miles northeast of Newport, moving northeast at 55 mph at around 11:39 p.m.
It is being reported that areas that may be impacted include Hergett, Apt, Valley View, Egypt, Cash, Gum Point, Farrville, Dorothy, Craighead Forest Park, Winesburg, Jonesboro, Uno, Cary, Lanieve, Lache Lake, Herndon, Pitts, Needham, Herman, and Lunsford.
The area is now clear as of Saturday morning.
