Louisville beats Stanford at the buzzer in ACC tournament quarterfinals

You think you missed meaningful postseason basketball, and then the first meaningful postseason game your team has played in four years nearly kills you 17 times.

Louisville trailed by as many as 15 points in the second half, then blew a 7-point lead with 90 seconds to go, and then got an all-time March moment from Chucky Hepburn at the buzzer.

Terrence Edwards led the way for the Cards with 25 monster points, while Hepburn added 20 and eight assists. Noah Waterman and James Scott each flirted with a double-double, as Waterman scored 12 points and grabbed nine boards, while Scott finished with 12 and eight.

As a result of Hepburn’s heroics, Louisville will now play in a conference tournament semifinal for the first time since joining the ACC in 2014-15. The Cards will face either SMU or Clemson Friday night at approximately 9:30 p.m.

We were awful, and then incredible, and then awful, and then incredible. It was far from a work of art, but holy shit, what a March moment that none of us will soon forget.

More to come.
