South Carolina is once again the favorite to win the women’s NCAA tournament. But UConn is right behind.
The Gamecocks are +270 to win the national championship at BetMGM and just ahead of UConn at +275. South Carolina got one of the four top seeds on Selection Sunday, while UConn lost out to USC for the final No. 1 seed.
South Carolina tied Texas for the regular-season title in the SEC but lost the tiebreaker because the Longhorns won their regular-season matchup 66-62. South Carolina got revenge in the SEC tournament with an easy 64-45 win.

UConn went undefeated in the Big East and is 31-3 overall. But the Huskies are the No. 2 seed behind USC in Seattle 2 as the Trojans beat the Huskies 72-70 in the regular season.
UCLA is the top overall seed in the women’s tournament and the No. 3 favorite at +500. The Bruins bested the Trojans in the Big Ten, and USC is +550 to win it all. A matchup between the Trojans and JuJu Watkins and the Huskies and Paige Bueckers in the Elite Eight will be appointment viewing.
Texas and Notre Dame also have low odds to win the tournament. The Longhorns are a No. 1 seed and have a nice draw in their Birmingham 2 region. Both Texas and Notre Dame are +600. The Irish are the No. 3 seed in Texas’ region with Big 12 tournament champions TCU as the No. 2 seed.
There’s a huge gap after Notre Dame and Texas to the rest of the field. No other team has lower than +4000 odds to win it all.
