The Dallas Mavericks (38-39) head into their final back-to-back of the regular season, closing out the game sets with a rare set of games in the same city against the same opponent, in this case the Los Angeles Clippers (44-32). Both teams are still in the hunt for playoff or play-in positioning. Dallas is hoping to hold onto the ninth seed, whereas the Clippers are hoping to escape the Play-In tournament. The Mavericks won their last contest on an Anthony Davis buzzer-beater over the Atlanta Hawks. After an early March losing streak, the Clippers have only lost three times and are looking to establish true winning streak, having defeated the Orlando Magic and New Orleans Pelicans. Here’s the main things to know before tip off:

  • WHO: Dallas Mavericks at Los Angeles Clippers
  • WHAT: Another attempt to get to .500
  • WHERE: Intuit Dome, Los Angeles, California
  • HOW: KFAA, MavsTV, and Playback with Kirk and David

The injury report is familiar for the Mavericks. Kyrie Irving, Dante Exum, and O-Max are out for the year. Dereck Lively is out this game (so it’s safe to assume he plays Saturday). Anthony Davis is listed as questionable and I rather think he’s going to skip tonight and play tomorrow as well. Caleb Martin is probable. Amir Coffee is out for the Clippers with an injury. Ben Simmons is also out, we can assume because he’s not good.

These two games are going to be weird. The Clippers should take control and dominate but Dallas keeps on surprising me. Let’s see what these short-handed Mavericks can do under pressure.

As you can tell below, you can join me and some other Mavs Moneyball guys in a room on Playback (embedded below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also, consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start after the game. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
