McDonald’s teases release date for once-popular menu item

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — McDonald’s teased a release date for a once-popular menu item on Tuesday.

The fast-food restaurant announced that snack wraps would return on the 14th. However, the company didn’t reveal which month the fan-favorite item would return, just that it would be sometime this year.

When fans started guessing release dates in the comments of McDonald’s X post, the company only offered cheeky responses like, “I cannot confirm or deny or confirm.”

In December, the company’s U.S. President, Joe Erlinger, confirmed on “Good Morning America” that snack wraps would return in 2025, saying the discontinued items have somewhat of a “cult-following.”

During a recent earnings call, McDonald’s President and CEO Chris Kempczinski said that the chain also plans to launch a “new chicken strip offering.” However, no further details were provided.

“My U.S. team would kill me if I gave any more details about the when and the exact specifics of how we’re going to plan on doing that, but certainly expect that to come online later in the year,” Kempczinski said.

Previously, McDonald’s offered the snack wrap in crispy and grilled chicken options. Customers could also choose between honey mustard, BBQ, or ranch.

The wraps were discontinued in 2016 and were later removed from all menus nationwide amid the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic.
