The competition on season 27 of The Voice is getting fierce.
In the first episode of the Live Semi-Finals, coaches Michael Bublé, John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini and Adam Levine got to utilize the brand-new Super Save rule and bring back one artist to compete on their team.
Bublé and Legend saved Kaiya Hamilton and Olivia Kuper-Harris, respectively, while Ballerini chose to bring back Jaelen Johnston. Levine was thrilled to announce he was saving Conor James. These singers joined the original top eight contestants — Adam David, Jadyn Cree, RENZO, Bryson Battle, Iris Herrera, Alanna Lynise, Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Kolby Cordell — for the first live performance show on May 12.
After an intense vocal showdown, viewers began voting for their favorite singers. Cree, RENZO, Johnston and Flores-Wiseman all advanced to the top five. Meanwhile, Battle, Herrera, David and Kuper-Harris battled it out for the Instant Save spot during the second Semi-Final episode on May 13.
Viewers had only a five-minute window to vote for their favorite performance, and David won, taking the final spot in the top five, per NBC.
Keep reading to meet the five remaining contestants who are all gunning to be named The Voice of season 27.

Adam David’s soulful voice has been a fan favorite on season 27 as he’s thrived on Team Bublé.
Born and raised in South Florida, the longtime musician started playing guitar at a young age and developed his voice during performing arts camp, according to his NBC bio. When he struggled with addiction, he leaned on music to help him process emotions.
David has been sober for six years and performs at rehabilitation centers every week, hoping to inspire others.
He advanced to the Live Finals after he brought the house down with his performance of “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims and won the Instant Save vote.

Jadyn Cree is a Voice legacy. Her father is Bryan Olesen, a finalist from season 25 of The Voice, and he cheered her on backstage while she auditioned with Paramore’s “Still Into You.”
“My dad definitely left some big shoes to fill,” she said before singing in front of the coaches. “I’m excited to make him proud and try my best to get anywhere close to where he got in this competition.”
The Lincoln, Neb., native is the lead singer of the 1980s cover band AM/FM and works as a full-time sales assistant for a window and door dealership, per her NBC bio. Bublé, her coach, told Cree during a March episode that she had the potential to win the show “for sure.”
“Not only do I see Jadyn fitting in with the big pop stars of today, Olivia [Rodrigo], Billie Eilish, but she has that spark, that thing that we cannot articulate or explain,” the “Feeling Good” singer later said on the show. “Part of it is that I think she’s truly humble.”
Cree advanced to the top five after her fun rendition of Tommy James & The Shondells’ “I Think We’re Alone Now.”

Team Legend’s Dennis Lorenzo goes by many names. He’s Professor Renzo at the elementary school where he teaches science, and he’s RENZO in the studio where he works as a producer and R&B and rock singer, per NBC.
Though he’s wowed the coaches and viewers with his powerful renditions of popular songs like Eilish’s “Happier Than Ever,” this isn’t the Philadelphia native’s first attempt at winning a singing competition. In 2018, RENZO reached the top 10 on American Idol before being eliminated, per ABC 6.
RENZO has three kids: Taten, Aliyah and Nyla.
His head-banging performance of “Dream On” by Aerosmith won enough viewer votes to push him to the Live Finals.

Saved by Team Kelsea during the first episode of Live Semi-Finals, Jaelen Johnston has spent the last four years building his musical career in his home state of Kansas while also working full-time at McConnell Air Force Base, per his NBC bio.
He’s inspired by his grandfather, a former Canadian entertainer who gifted him his first guitar when he was 16.
Johnston advanced to the top five after singing “I Drive Your Truck” by Lee Brice.

Lucia Flores-Wiseman, a member of Team Adam, earned a four-chair turn for her performance of Ángela Aguilar’s “La Llorona.” Though she was raised away from her Mexican roots in Maple Valley, Wash., the singer became fluent in Spanish while studying abroad in Spain, per her NBC bio.
Ballerini told Flores-Wiseman that she has “a God-given voice.” Prior to coming on The Voice, the singer regularly performed at festivals and weddings.
The singer earned her place in the top five after her powerful performance on Soundgarden‘s “Black Hole Sun.”

Ontario, Calif., native and Team Adam star Kolby Cordell has wanted to be a singer since he was 17. According to his NBC bio, he became a materials handler for the U.S. Forest Service to support his 6-year-old son, Karter, and continue pursuing his musical aspirations.
Though the singer impressed all the judges during his blind audition with his rendition of “Never Enough” by Luther Vandross, his performance was particularly moving to Legend.
“You really made the song your own,” Legend told Cordell.
After his soulful cover of Justin Timberlake‘s “Drink You Away,” Cordell was eliminated during the Live Semi-Finals on May 13.

Team Adam brought back Conor James with the Super Save on May 12. Originally from Bridgewater, Mass., James developed his lifelong passion for musical theater in his small hometown and taught himself how to play piano, per WWLP.
After graduating from high school, he moved to New York City to attend the American Musical and Dramatic Academy. James currently resides in Los Angeles, where he works as a musician performing everywhere from luxury hotels to nursing homes.
James sang Adele‘s “Chasing Pavements” during the Live Semi-Finals, but was unfortunately not voted into the next round. He later teased new music and shows on his socials, captioning an Instagram Reel, “What’s next is SO MUCH.”
Alanna Lynise performs on ‘The Voice’. Greg Gayne/NBC
Team Kelsea’s Alanna Lynise was the final contestant to take the stage for this season’s blind auditions, and her moving rendition of Julia Michaels’ “Issues” almost had all four coaches competing over her. Only Legend didn’t turn his chair because his team was already full.
“I would’ve turned probably like, within the first 15 seconds because I loved your intonation and the confidence and the poise you showed,” he told the Toledo, Ohio, native.
According to her NBC bio, Lynise found her voice after performing in church for over 300 people when she was 11. She has eight siblings who are also musically gifted and graduated from the Toledo School for the Arts in 2023.
The singer didn’t take home enough votes to make it to the Live Finals. However, she did share on Instagram that she’s engaged and expecting a child with her fiancé, Kalen Sanders.

Team Bublé saved seasoned wedding singer and vocal powerhouse Kaiya Hamilton in the Live Semi-Finals. Hailing from Atlanta, Hamilton grew up in a musical family and started performing when she was 13, per her NBC bio.
She’s also a mother of a toddler and twins, whom she shares with her fiancé, Kenny.
Hamilton did not advance to the Live Finals.
Iris Herrera performs on ‘The Voice’. Greg Gayne/NBC
This isn’t the first time Voice fans have heard Iris Herrera’s unique pipes. She competed in the blind auditions during season 26, but received no chair turns after coaches told her she needed to find her own style. Now, she’s on Team Kelsea.
“I went home and I worked really hard,” Herrera said before her second blind audition. “I’m nervous, I’m excited, I’m ready. Let’s rock and roll.”
Hailing from Newaygo, Mich., per the Huron Daily Tribune, the teen was raised on Mozart and Latin music and taught herself how to play piano, per her NBC bio.
Though Herrera didn’t get enough votes to secure her spot in the top five, she did get enough to compete for the Instant Save with her rendition of “Rocketman” by Elton John. She didn’t advance, and shared a sentimental message with her fans about how “lucky” she felt to be a part of The Voice.
“I leave the voice stage humble and full of love and gratitude,” Herrera captioned photos from her time on the show. “This experience is the gift that keeps on giving. I truly put so much into this project and I can’t wait for what’s next🫶.”
Olivia Kuper Harris’ Live Semi Final Performance on ‘The Voice’. Griffin Nagel/NBC
A Super Save from Team Legend, Olivia Kuper-Harris was raised in a musical family and learned how to play piano alongside her mother, who is a cellist. According to her NBC bio, the New York City native discovered her passion for jazz while she was in high school and later started performing in clubs around Manhattan.
When she won Postmodern Jukebox’s talent search, her career took off, and she began performing world tours across Australia, Europe and North America.
Kuper-Harris also competed for the Super Save and sang “Rainbow” by Kacey Musgraves. Though she didn’t make it to the next round, she told her fans on Instagram that she has “so much gratitude” for their support.
Bryson Battle performs on ‘The Voice’. Greg Gayne/NBC
During his blind audition, Team Legend’s Bryson Battle sang Donny Hathaway’s “A Song For You” — a track that Bublé is very familiar with. The coach told him that he sings the song “every night” during his shows, but he’s never “sung it that good.”
“You might have the greatest voice I’ve ever heard in my life,” Bublé told the Harrisburg, N.C., native after he received a four-chair turn.
In addition to his incredible vocal range, Battle is also an actor and dancer. He’s currently studying musical theater at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
The singer went home after competing for the Instant Save with his performance of Bruno Mars‘ “Talking to the Moon.” But he walked away with sweet words: his coach told him he was “the epitome of what this show is all about.”
