Gold Cup prediction, odds for US vs. Mexico

ESPN: Mexico 2, US 1

It writes: “The U.S. is certainly capable of winning this game, but Mexico has a bit more quality in attack, which will likely prove to be the difference..”

Action Network: Mexico to win

It writes: “The Americans have gone from strength to strength in the tournament, but the problem is that Mexico didn’t need to. Their 3-2 win in the opener against the Dominican Republic was their only moment of frailty, and they haven’t looked back since. A lack of flair could hurt El Tri if the USA plays a disciplined match, but they still have the quality to overcome it.”

Bleacher Report: Mexico 2, US 0

It writes: “An American win would be an unlikely result given the inexperience on the roster. Mexico should win with relative ease, especially if its defense remains stellar.”

Sporty trader: Draw to penalties

It writes: “This is a very even looking matchup and we would not be surprised to see the game go all the way to penalties. Mexico have the best defence in the tournament, and whilst the US have been scoring plenty of goals, we think they will find things a lot tougher on Sunday. If we had to stick our necks out, we would probably back Mexico for the win, but we think the smart option is to back the game to finish 0-0 or 1-1 after 90 minutes.”
