If you’re depending on MLB TV to get your Opening Day fix, you may want to invest in a backup option.
As first pitches were thrown on Thursday afternoon, users across the internet reported trouble accessing the league’s streaming service.
The Post’s attempts to watch games using MLB TV received an error that read, “We had some trouble loading the game, please try again later.”
MLB was seemingly able to solve its technical issues as service was restored around 5 p.m.
Downdetector, which monitors website and service outages, saw a spike in MLB TV reports beginning at 3 p.m., with nearly 8,500 user-submitted problems shortly thereafter.
X users implored MLB TV’s official account to “fix the app” — among other, more vulgar requests — as the 14-game slate began.
Many of the complaints came in response to a post advertising the site’s “Free game of the Day” between the Athletics and Mariners, posted at 10:45 a.m., ET.
“The fact this page hasn’t even acknowledged the outage says a lot,” one ired X user wrote.

“Thanks for nothing! The most important day of the year for you and the app is working for nobody,” another added.
“I’ve been paying for MLB.TV for over a decade and the subscription keeps getting worse for more money,” one seemingly exasperated user added. “Why?”
The issues may be problematic for some fan bases more than others.
This season, SNY, which carries Mets games, launched a standalone direct-to-consumer subscription service through MLB TV at an in-market cost of $24.99 per month, $124.99 per season or $149.99 per year. Those who get the channel through cable service could also stream via MLB at no additional cost.
