More Rounds of Rain and Storms
MILES SPANNING THE COUNTRY AS IT SWEPT ACROSS A LOT OF PEOPLE DEALING WITH A LOT OF THE SAME. AND, YOU KNOW, THE BULL’S EYE REALLY WAS KIND OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, DOWN TO MEMPHIS IN THROUGH PARTS OF ARKANSAS. AND THAT’S WHERE THEY SAW THE MUCH LARGER, LONGER TRACK TORNADOES VERSUS OUR AREA WHERE WE DID HAVE SOME TORNADO WARNINGS OVERNIGHT. A LOT OF THOSE WOULD BE WOULD HAVE BEEN EMBEDDED TORNADOES KIND OF RIGHT ON THAT SQUALL LINE THAT WAS COMING THROUGH. SO WE ALL SAW THE STRONG WINDS COME THROUGH. BUT SOME PLACES THERE MAY HAVE BEEN SOME ROTATION. SO OBVIOUSLY, YOU KNOW, CHECKING IN ON THE DAMAGE HERE ONCE THE SUN COMES UP THIS MORNING LOOKING AT THE RADAR RIGHT NOW, THINGS HAVE QUIETED DOWN ACROSS A GOOD CHUNK OF GREATER CINCINNATI. IF YOU ARE SOUTH OF THE 7175 SPLIT, IT’S STILL COMING DOWN PRETTY GOOD AND SOME MUCH LIGHTER RAIN SHOWERS STILL LINGERING TO THE SOUTH AND EAST. SO OVER THE LAST HOUR OR SO YOU CAN SEE THE RAIN SHOWERS JUST KIND OF SLOWLY MEANDERING TO THE EAST AND NORTHEAST AND KIND OF OUT OF THE AREA. SO SOUTH OF THE SPLIT IN THROUGH OWEN COUNTY SPECIFICALLY, YOU’RE PROBABLY THE COUNTY THAT’S GETTING HIT THE HARDEST RIGHT NOW WITH STILL SOME AGGRESSIVE KIND OF MODERATE DOWNPOURS. SO THAT WILL BE THE CASE IF YOU’RE JUMPING ON 71 OR 75 SOUTH OF THE SPLIT, YOU’VE GOT STEADY RAIN, SOME LIGHTER RAIN SHOWERS IN THROUGH FALMOUTH, AND THEN WE HEAD BACK INTO PORTIONS OF BROWN COUNTY. BRACKEN, MASON, ROBERTSON COUNTIES, ALL SHOWING LIGHT RAIN SHOWERS. WE’RE DONE WITH THE LIGHTNING, WHICH IS GREAT. THAT WAS QUITE THE SHOW LAST NIGHT. AND HILLSBORO RIGHT NOW DRYING OUT KIND OF THE BACK EDGE OF THE RAIN SHOWERS. BUT ON A WIDE VIEW. YOU CAN SEE AS THIS SYSTEM MAKES ITS WAY TO THE EAST, TRIGGERING MORE TORNADO WARNINGS AND PORTIONS OF PENNSYLVANIA, WEST VIRGINIA, AND NOW INTO PORTIONS OF EASTERN KENTUCKY. I KNOW IT LOOKS LIKE THE STORM IS PROGRESSING EAST AND IS GOING TO KEEP ON GOING ON ITS WAY, BUT IT’S NOT. IT’S GOING TO STALL OUT AND BASICALLY ACT LIKE A CONVEYOR BELT FOR ROUNDS OF RAIN. AND YOU CAN SEE WHERE THAT CORRIDOR IS SETTING UP. EXCESSIVE RAIN OUTLOOK FOR TODAY. ONCE AGAIN, IT’S PADUCAH OVER TOWARD BOWLING GREEN. NOTICE IN OUR AREA SOME HEAVIER RAIN EXPECTED. AND THIS BASICALLY IS WHERE THE FRONT IS GOING TO SET UP FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. I’LL SHOW IT TO YOU RIGHT HERE ON THE FUTURECAST THIS MORNING. BASICALLY, BETWEEN NOW AND SUNDAY MORNING, IF YOU’RE HEADED OUT THE DOOR, PLAN ON GETTING WET. NOW. THERE WILL ABSOLUTELY BE BREAKS IN THE ACTION, BUT TIMING IT OUT IS DEFINITELY A DAY BY DAY EXPERIENCE FOR US. SO AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT THE FUTURECAST THIS MORNING, THAT FRONT BASICALLY BECOMING A STATIONARY BOUNDARY DRAPED ACROSS OUR AREA, AND THEN THE RAIN SHOWERS SHOULD FADE AS THE SUN COMES UP TOWARDS SEVEN. THE 7:00 HOUR. WE ARE GOING TO WATCH THIS TURN INTO THE THE THE THE TRAIN TRACKS FOR MORE RAIN THROUGH THE REST OF THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. SO AT NOON, I THINK WE’RE LOOKING PRETTY QUIET, A LITTLE LULL IN THE ACTION, BUT BY ABOUT 2 OR 3:00 HERE COMES MORE RAIN POTENTIAL FOR SOME THUNDER AND LIGHTNING IN THERE AGAIN, ESPECIALLY JUST IN TIME FOR THE EVENING COMMUTE. YOU’LL NOTICE AREAS SOUTH OF THAT BOUNDARY PROBABLY HAVE A BETTER POTENTIAL TO MAYBE GET SOME LIGHTNING OUT OF THERE. SO OUR SOUTHERNMOST COMMUNITIES HAVE A BETTER CHANCE FOR THUNDER AND LIGHTNING INTO THE EVENING HOURS. WE’LL WATCH MORE RAIN PICK UP AGAIN OVERNIGHT. AND A LOT OF THIS IS TRENDING WITH THE NIGHTS BEING THE WETTEST TIME FRAME. SO SOME HEAVY RAIN WHILE YOU’RE SLEEPING TONIGHT. TOMORROW MORNING IT WILL BE MORE OFF AND ON I THINK DURING THE DAY FRIDAY AND THEN PICKING BACK UP AGAIN LATE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SATURDAY. SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY MORNING IS PROBABLY THE MOST INTENSE BATCH OF RAIN THAT WE’RE EXPECTING BEFORE THIS THING FINALLY GETS A MOVE ON AND MOVES OUT OF THE AREA. SO AS FAR AS HOW MUCH RAIN WE’RE GOING TO GET BETWEEN RIGHT NOW AND SUNDAY, MOST PLACES ARE STILL GOING TO PICK UP AN ADDITIONAL 3 TO 6IN. SOME SPOTS COULD SEE AN ADDITIONAL SEVEN INCHES OF TOTAL RAINFALL. OF COURSE, ALL OF THAT HAS TO GO SOMEWHERE, RIGHT? AND IN SOME CASES IT WILL BE YOUR BASEMENT. IN SOME PLACES WILL BE STANDING WATER ON THE ROADS. FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES THROUGH SUNDAY MORNING. AND BECAUSE THIS IS OVER, SUCH A LARGE AREA, EVENTUALLY IT ALL MAKES ITS WAY TO OUR LOCAL WATERWAYS. YOU’RE GOING TO SEE THE LITTLE MIAMI AND THE GREAT MIAMI JUMPING IN RIVER LEVELS TODAY INTO TOMORROW, AND EVENTUALLY THE OHIO RIVER. SO IN A SECOND HERE, ALLISON WILL GO OVER SOME OF THE IMPACTS THAT THE HIGH WATER AS FAR AS OUR RIVERS WILL GO. AS FAR AS YOUR TRAVELS THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. TAKING A LOOK AT THE 12 HOUR FORECAST THIS MORNING, A LITTLE BIT OF RAIN HERE THROUGH ABOUT THE 7:00 HOUR, AND THEN WE’LL GENERALLY DRY THINGS OUT INTO THE EARLY AFTERNOON. RAIN PICKS RIGHT BACK UP AGAIN BY ABOUT 2 OR 3:00 THIS AFTERNOON, BUT WE STILL SHOULD MAKE A RUN AT SEEING 70 DEGREES FOR A HIGH TODAY. ROUNDS OF RAIN AND THUNDERSTORMS RERACK THAT SAME FORECAST FOR US FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AND INTO SUNDAY MORNING. BY SUNDAY AFTERNOON, THE RAIN IS GONE AND SO IS THE WARM AIR. TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY BE DOWN INTO THE 40S ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AND STAYING COOL IN THROUGH NEXT WEEK. SO LET’S GET OVER TO ALLISON AND TALK A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT WHERE ALONG THE OHIO RIVER WE’RE GOING TO HAVE SOME ISSUES. YEAH. YOUR TYPICAL SPOTS THAT WE WOULD SEE IN JANUARY OR FEBRUARY GOING TO BE DEALING WITH SOME ISSUES THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS, OF COURSE, IT’S APRIL. SO WHAT WE’RE TALKING ABOUT IS THE OHIO RIVER GETTING UP TO 49 TO 50FT THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. THAT’S GOING TO LEAD TO SOME WATER COVERING LOW AREAS OF KELLOGG AVENUE EAST OF DELTA AVENUE, AREAS OF HUMBER AVENUE OVER INTO THE EAST END. STARTING TO FLOOD AND WE’RE GOING TO DEAL WITH SOME
