Morgan Wallen raised his left hand, looked into the Saturday Night Live camera and shouted, “Praise the Lord, Go Vols.”
The uber-popular country singer from East Tennessee made his second-ever appearance on SNL Saturday night, playing two songs from his new album “I’m the Problem.” His shoutout to the Vols was particularly timely as the University of Tennessee Volunteers play Houston today with the winner advancing to the Final Four of the NCAA basketball tournament.
SNL host Mikey Madison, who starred in the 5-Oscar winning film “Anora,” introduced Wallen.
He appeared in front of a set featuring an old television set stuffed under a desk. The mustachioed Wallen wore a jean jacket, Field and Stream cap, gold chain, blue jeans and gray boots.
He sang “I’m the Problem,” which includes the line, “How do you explain falling in love with a guy like me in the first place?”

Wallen’s second song was “Just in Case,” in which he sings, “I never fall in love, baby, just in case.”
This time, his jeans were ripped at the knees, and he wore a camouflage Harley Davidson hat.
In the closing credits, when the stars of the show take a bow, Wallen and Madison stood together. Wallen saluted the crowd, gave Madison a quick hug and walked off stage toward the audience instead of hanging out on stage with the cast members.
Wallen’s Instagram account shared a stories photo of an airplane, presumably his private jet, with the words: “Get me to God’s Country.”
In 2020, Wallen had famously been bounced from the show when videos surfaced of the Grammy-nominated singer not following COVID-19 protocols. He was shown not wearing a mask, playing guitar and singing in front of a close group of on-lookers and kissing women.
