LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KFOX14/CBS4) — A mass shooting happened at Young Park in Las Cruces Friday night, police officials said.

Officers were called just after 10 p.m. to reports of gunfire and gunshot victims near the parking lot of Young Park located at 850 S. Walnut St.

When officers arrived on scene they found multiple victims with gunshot wounds.

Officials at Memorial Medical Center said they received six patients.

The department said the victims were transported to local hospitals, including the University Medical Center in El Paso.

According to investigators police do not have the number of victims or the extent of their injuries.

Police are still trying to identify the suspect or suspects in this case.

The department said anyone with information who has not yet spoken to investigators or families looking for loved ones should contact Las Cruces Police Central Dispatch at (575) 526-0795.
