Key Facts
Ashley St. Clair told the Daily Mail Monday she was selling her Tesla Model S to “make up for the 60% cut that Elon made to our son’s child support.”
The conservative influencer shot into the spotlight in February after alleging Musk is the father of her five-month-old baby and said she was forced to disclose this after finding out that the “tabloid media” intended to report the story.
Musk, who had not commented on St. Clair’s claims at the time, responded to a clip of her accusing him of slashing child support, saying: “I don’t know if the child is mine or not, but am not against finding out.”
The billionaire said no court order would be required for this and added: “Despite not knowing for sure, I have given Ashley $2.5M and am sending her $500k/year.”

How Did St. Clair Respond?
St Clair responded to Musk’s post, claiming Musk named the child and alleged that he refused earlier when asked “to confirm paternity through a test.” She then chided the billionaire, saying: “It’s ironic that your last effort in court was to try to gag me while you use a social media channel you literally own to distribute derogatory messages about me and our child to the entire world. It’s all about control with you, and everyone can see it. America needs you to grow up, you petulant man-child.”
Who Is Ashley St. Clair?
St Clair is a conservative influencer who has garnered over one million followers on X. Her profile notes she is an author and she has written a children’s book titled “Elephants Are Not Birds.” The book, which opposes the acceptance of transgender people, was published by BRAVE Books, a Christian publishing company that claims to publish “books for kids that reinforce biblically-based, foundational values.” Posts on her Instagram profile also show her participating in protests against undocumented migrants in New York City last year.
What Do We Know About St. Clair’s Child?
In February, journalist Taylor Lorenz reported that St. Clair’s son was named R.S.C.—a name the influencer says was chosen by Musk. The report said St. Clair had filed for sole legal custody of her son, who the influencer claims was born in September last year. The influencer reportedly claimed in her court filing that Musk was not present at the time of R.S.C.’s birth and has only met him three times. Last month, People Magazine reported St. Clair’s legal team claimed that Musk had “financially retaliated” against her bid to seek sole custody of the infant. The influencer’s attorneys also told People that Musk filed “an emergency application to gag Ashley and prevent her from communicating about his actions.”
What Do We Know About Elon Musk’s Children?
Musk has repeatedly raised alarms about declining birth rates and warned that it could lead to societal collapse, despite demographers pushing back against such claims. The billionaire had six children with his first wife, Justine Wilson, but their first child died of sudden infant death syndrome just 10 weeks after his birth in 2002. Wilson and Musk’s five other children are twins Griffin and Vivian Jenna Wilson, born in 2004; and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian Musk, born in 2006. Vivian, who is trans, has publicly criticised her estranged father. The billionaire has three children with the singer Grimes: X Æ A-Xii Musk, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk and Techno Mechanicus Musk, born in 2020, 2021 and 2022, respectively. The billionaire also fathered three children with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis: twins Strider and Azure Musk, born in 2021 through IVF and a third child born through surrogacy in 2024.
