N.J. native chooses transfer portal over 2025 WNBA Draft

Notre Dame star Olivia Miles will forgo the 2025 WNBA Draft and enter the transfer portal, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Monday.

The former Blair Academy standout was projected to be the No. 2 pick behind UConn’s Paige Bueckers in this month’s draft.

Miles, 22, has one year of eligibility remaining after missing the 2023-24 season due to a knee injury she sustained at the end of the 2022-23 regular season.

She returned to the court this season alongside fellow N.J. native Hannah Hidalgo and Sonia Citron to form one of the best backcourts in the country.

Miles helped lead the Fighting Irish to a Sweet 16 appearance, falling to TCU, 71-62. She garnered AP All-American second team honors this season, averaging 15.4 points, 5.8 assists, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

“When I think about legacy, I think more about the impact that I leave on people,” Miles said after Saturday’s Sweet 16 loss.

“Winning is great. Obviously, everyone wants to do it. But as coach [Niele] Ivey said, as long as you leave the place better than you found it, you left a really good impact.”
