Fans of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure have yet another reason to be excited, as a new manga collection is landing on a suspiciously timed day. With JOJO Day announcements imminent, the manga collection seems to hint at what fans really want: a Steel Ball Run anime.
JOJO Day is on Saturday, April 12, 2025, and is a live event being streamed over the internet showcasing elements of Jojo history, and announcements of things to come as well. Ever since JOJO Day was announced, fans have been hoping that this would be the day that an adaptation of part 7, Steel Ball Run, would finally be announced. A mistaken message on X (formerly Twitter), however, may have given away the secret, as it pushed the Steel Ball Run manga box set.
Could Part 7’s Anime Be Announced Soon?
The Timing of the Message Was Highly Suspicious
The @Jojo_Wiki account on X (Formerly Twitter) managed to get a screenshot of a deleted message, posted by an account run by publisher Shueisha, which mentioned the JOJO Day events and suggested that the manga box set for part 7 was perfect for catching up on the “original manga.” The wording and timing suggest that this message was meant to be sent out after an announcement of a Steel Ball Run anime, but accidentally got posted too early, and as such was subsequently deleted when the mistake was noticed.
While it’s hardly conclusive evidence, the deleted message does heavily imply that an announcement is on the way. Fans are no doubt waiting throughout the day with bated breath for the moment that a Steel Ball Run anime is confirmed, and there will be much rejoicing should that moment actually come. It would certainly be odd for JOJO Day to have been hyped up so much if no announcement is coming, but weirder things have certainly happened.
Why Are Fans So Eager for Steel Ball Run to be Animated?
Steel Ball Run Stands Out as Some of Jojo’s Best
Even before some other installments of Jojo were animated, there was a great level of anticipation about the idea of part 7 being animated. Steel Ball Run is a very popular installment for fans, and is aimed at a slightly more mature audience than most of Jojo is, making for some deeper content. Johnny Joestar, a paraplegic who used to ride horses, is the main character, and his development throughout the story is praised as some of the best in manga.
It’s now been a few years since part 6 concluded, so fan anticipation of part 7’s anime has been particularly hot since then. All eyes have been on JOJO Day since it was announced, and fans are looking for anything that might clue them in to an announcement. The deleted message has given fans a new round of hope, so with any luck, the fans who’ve been waiting so long for Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure part 7 to be animated will finally get what they want, and JOJO Day will be remembered as a great success.
