Late on Friday night, news broke that the New York Giants and veteran quarterback Jameis Winston agreed to terms on a two-year deal. The move solved one of the team’s biggest offseason needs and helped fill a room that featured only Tommy DeVito entering the day.
The decision to sign Winston came amid a search that also included Aaron Rodgers, Joe Flacco, and Russell Wilson.
While early reports suggest the Giants will continue their pursuit of Rodgers, it would appear that both Flacco and Wilson are out — unless general manager Joe Schoen fails to lure A-A-Ron to East Rutherford, in which case he could reevaluate.
After word of the pending Winston contract spread, social media reacted quickly.
