NFL analyst and sports personality Colin Cowherd has never held back his opinions on the Pittsburgh Steelers. He’s been painfully critical of head coach Mike Tomlin and the team but at the same time has given his team it’s due when deserved. On Monday, Cowherd slammed the Steelers on his show for the trade for wide receiver DK Metcalf.
Cowherd said the trade was like “buying a house to save a marriage” and that it won’t work. He then went on to list all the things still wrong with this team, insinuating the addition of Metcalf isn’t going to fix any of that.
While we agree that the addition of Metcalf doesn’t make the Steelers contenders, it does make Pittsburgh better. It also gives the rest of the Steelers offense hope. This will help bring in free agents and make the players around Metcalf better. There can be only one Super Bowl champion every year and even if this move doesn’t mean the Steelers will be that team next season, it does give them a fighting chance.
