NFL Draft Day 2 tracker: Live blog, trades, updates, picks and more

The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to have two more picks on the second day of the draft after selecting Texas receiver Matthew Golden at 23rd overall. The early rumor is that the Packers will be moving around on Friday, as Green Bay president and CEO Mark Murphy told Kay Adams that his prediction is that the club will trade up once and down twice today.

I’m not exactly sure how that math works out, maybe moving down from their original picks and trading their fourth (and some of the assets they got in trade downs) to move back into the third round is my guess. Most people believe the best value selections in this class will be coming from about the mid-second-round to the early-fourth-round, based on how teams value selections and how the talent in this class is distributed.

From a non-Packers perspective, the story of the day is where Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is going to go after he fell out of the first round completely yesterday. Ian Rapoport is claiming that if the Las Vegas Raiders don’t pick Sanders early on in the second round, his next chance might not come until the third round with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Sanders has a good relationship with Raiders co-owner Tom Brady, so that’s the logic there.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer, injuries at cornerback are a big question mark. ECU’s Shavon Revel tore his ACL and “rehab hasn’t gone quite as hoped.” Revel took a visit to Green Bay this offseason. Meanwhile, Benjamin Morrison is coming off of hip surgery and Will Johnson has a knee issue that was flagged by teams. They are three of the top four cornerbacks still available in this class.
