Texans deal LT Tunsil to Commanders

The Houston Texans have dealt left tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders for a package of draft picks including second and fourth-round picks, including a third rounder this year, according to multiple reports.

The Texans will receive a fourth rounder back in the deal.

Seahawks signing Darnold to three-year, $100.5M contract

The Seattle Seahawks quickly shored up their quarterback position, reaching an agreement with Sam Darnold on a three-year, $110 million deal with $55 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Darnold had a career year last year with the Minnesota Vikings. 

The 27-year-old made the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career last season with the Minnesota Vikings and finished 10th in Associated Press MVP voting.

He threw for a career-best 4,319 yards and 35 touchdowns compared to 12 interceptions. However, Darnold struggled in the final week of the regular season and postseason as the Vikings were denied the NFC’s No. 1 seed and then eliminated by the Los Angeles Rams in back-to-back weeks.

The signing comes days after the Seahawks traded former QB Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders in exchange for a third-round pick.

Fields to sign with Jets

Quarterback Justin Fields and the New York Jets have reached an agreement on a two-year, $40 million deal that includes $30 million.

Fields started six games with the Pittsburgh Steelers last season while starter Russell Wilson recovered from a strained calf. 

He threw for 1,106 yards on 106-for-161 passing with five touchdowns and an interception. He added another 289 yards and five TDs on the ground.

A native of Kennesaw, GA, Fields was originally taken with the 11th overall selection of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Ohio State by the Chicago Bears with whom he spent the first three seasons of his career.

In 50 games over four seasons, Fields has thrown for 7,780 yards on 684-for-1,119 passing with 45 TDs and 31 picks.

Canadian WR Palmer to sign with Bills

Canadian wide receiver Josh Palmer has agreed to sign a three-year, $36 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Brampton, Ont., native had 39 receptions for 584 yards and one touchdown with the Los Angeles Chargers last season.

He was selected 77th overall by the Chargers in the 2021 NFL Draft and has racked up 2,287 yards and 10 touchdowns in 58 career games.

Bucs re-sign Godwin, to sign Reddick

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have re-signed receiver Chris Godwin to a three-year, $66 million deal that includes $44 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports.

Godwin sustained a season-ending ankle injury that limited him to seven games last season, where he posted 50 catches for 576 yards and five touchdowns.

The Bucs are also signing Haason Reddick, according to multiple reports. It’s a one-year deal worth $14 million including $12 million guaranteed.

Reddick played 10 games with the Jets last season after holding out for the first 10 games of the campaign and recorded one sack and 14 combined tackles.

Steelers checking on Rodgers

Fresh off acquiring wide receiver D.K. Metcalf from the Seattle Seahawks, the Pittsburgh Steelers continue to explore ways to revamp their offence and are reportedly considering former New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Pittsburgh will continue talks with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields but that the four-time MVP has also emerged as an option.

Rodgers, 41, is set to become a free agent after the Jets announced he would be released after two disappointing seasons in New York. The team finished 5-12 last year, second last in the AFC East. The 10-time Pro Bowler passed for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns. 

The Steelers finished 10-7 last season and were eliminated by the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round of the playoffs. 

Fields, who the Steelers acquired in a trade last offseason, remains in talks with both Pittsburgh and the Jets. He started six games for the Steelers last season before Wilson took over the the remainder of the season. 

Patriots sign CB Davis, LB Spillane, add to offensive line

The Patriots are signing cornerback Carlton Davis to a three-year, $60 million deal with $34.5 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

The 28-year-old spent last season with the Detroit Lions, where he recorded 56 combined tackles, two interceptions and 11 pass defences.

Linebacker Robert Spillane will also be signing with the New England Patriots, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The 29-year-old had 158 combined tackles, two sacks, and two interceptions in 17 games last season.

New England also agreed to terms with veteran offensive tackle Morgan Moses on a three-year, $24 million deal worth up to $28.5 million, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Broncos give DT Jones three-year deal, Hufanga

The Denver Broncos and defensive tackle D.J. Jones have agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal that includes $26 million guaranteed, according to EPSN’s Adam Schefter.

 Jones, 30, played all 17 games with the Broncos last season, recording one sack and 42 combined tackles.

Denver also agreed to a three-year contract worth up to $45 million with safety Talanoa Hufanaga. The deal includes $20 million at signing.

Rankins, Barnett to sign with Texans

Veteran defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins has agreed to a one-year deal with the Houston Texans, according to The Athletic’s Diana Russini.

He was with the team in 2023 before spending 2024 with the Cincinnati Bengals, where he posted 18 total tackles and one sack in seven games.

Defensive end Derek Barnett will also return to the Texans on a one-year, $5M deal. He posted five sacks in 16 games in Houston last season.

Lions re-sign LB Barnes, Turner

The Detroit Lions have signed LB Derrick Barnes to a contract extension through the 2027 season. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports the deal is worth $24 million in base salary over three years, with the first two years guaranteed at $16 million. The contract also includes $500K in incentives for each season.

Barnes has suited up in 51 games with the Lions over four years (26 starts) recording 194 combined tackles, four sacks, and one forced fumble. 

The team also re-signed linebacker Ezekiel Turner, who played nine games with the team last season, recording 12 tackles and three QB hits as a Lion.

TE Engram visiting Broncos

Tight end Evan Engram is visiting with the Denver Broncos today, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. He was released by the Jaguars last week.

The 30-year-old played nine games last season, catching 47 passes for 365 yards and one touchdown.

Engram set career highs in 2023, catching 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns. 

Falcons release Jarrett, who signs with Bears

The Atlanta Falcons are releasing defensive tackle Grady Jarrett, according to multiple reports. The move clears $16.25 million in cap space.

The two-time Pro Bowler has spent his entire 10-year career with the team.

The veteran quickly found a new team, agreeing to a three-year, $43.5 million deal with the Chicago Bears. The contract also includes $28.5 million guaranteed. 

Panthers extend Horn

Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn has agreed to a four-year, $100 million extension that includes $70 million guaranteed and a maximum value of $108 million including incentives. 

At $25M per year, Horn becomes the highest paid defensive back ion NFL history.

The 25-year-old was selected to his first Pro Bowl in 2024, when he played 15 games and recorded 68 combined tackles, 13 pass defences, and one interception.

Horn was originally selected eighth overall by the Panthers in the 2021 NFL Draft.

In 37 career games, he has tallied 153 total tackles, five interceptions, and 26 pass defences.

Mack re-signs with Chargers

Pass rusher Khalil Mack has re-sign with the Los Angeles Chargers on a one-year, fully guaranteed $18 million deal, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The former Defensive Player of the Year recorded 39 combined tackles and six sacks in 16 games last season, earning his ninth Pro Bowl nod.

Chiefs add to O-Line, backfield

The Kansas City Chiefs are signing offensive tackle Jaylon Moore to a two-year, $30 million deal that includes $21.24 million guaranteed at signing.

Kansas City also added former 49ers RB Elijah Mitchell. 

Bears add Dalman, Odeyingbo

The Chicago Bears are signing centre Drew Dalman to a three-year, $42 million deal with $28 million guaranteed, reports Diana Russini of the Athletic.

The Bears also added to their defensive line, signing DE Dayo Odebingbo to a three-year, $48 million contract, per multiple reports.

Bengals keep Hill

The Cincinnati Bengals have re-signed defensive tackle BJ Hill to a three-year, $33 million contract, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The team also agreed to terms with RB Samaje Perine on a two-year deal worth up to $38 million, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. The former Bengal spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Commanders sign Kinlaw

The Washington Commanders have signed former San Francisco 49ers DT Javon Kinlaw to a three-year, $45 million deal that includes $30M guaranteed, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Jaguars to sign Lewis, Murray, Brown

Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis will be signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars, reports NFL Netwokr’s Ian Rapoport. It is a three-year deal worth $30 million and $20 million guaranteed. 

The 29-year-old had one interception in 16 games last season.

The Jags are also safety Eric Murray to their secondary, signing the former Houston Texan to a three-year, $22.5 million deal.

The Jags also added on the offensive side of the ball, agreeing to terms with WR Dyami Brown on a one-year, $10M contract, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Jimmy-G returns to LA

Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is returning to the Los Angeles Rams on a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.

Titans load offensive line

The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with left tackle Dan Moore on a four-year, $82 million deal with $50 million guaranteed and $30 million in year one, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Moore, 26, has played his entire four-year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lions adding Reed

The Detroit Lions are finalizing a deal with cornerback DJ Reed, reports ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Vikings add secondary help

The Minnesota Vikings have reached an agreement with CB Isaiah Rodgers on a two-year, $15 millions contract including $8 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The team also signed safety Cam Bynum from the Indianapolis Colts, who agrees to a four-year, $60 million deal.

Giants add CB Adebo

The New York Giants are set to sign cornerback Paulson Adebo to a three-year, $54 million contract worth $18 million per season, per multiple reports.

The 25-year-old played his entire four-year career with the New Orleans Saints after being selected 76th overall in 2021.

Last season, he recorded three interceptions and 52 total tackles in seven games.

Packers add G Banks
