NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah publishes final 2025 NFL mock draft

Former NFL scout and current analyst Daniel Jeremiah is one of the most respected draft evaluators in the media space, one who is more accurate than your run-of-the-mill mock drafter. On Wednesday night, DJ released his final mock draft of the 2025 cycle, one that included several interesting trends.

First of all, offensive linemen got pushed way up. Texas’ Kelvin Banks, ranked the 13th overall pick on the consensus draft board, was picked 6th overall, and North Dakota State’s Grey Zabel, the 28th prospect, was picked 11th. Beyond that, Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan’s drop only lasted to the 12th pick, where the Dallas Cowboys seem locked into a receiver — be it McMillan or Texas’ Matthew Golden.

Packers visitors who were off the board by the 23rd overall pick in Jeremiah’s mock include McMillan, Golden, Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka, Georgia edge defender Mykel Williams and Texas A&M edge defender Shemar Stewart. According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, who covers Green Bay, the Packers’ preferred target in the first is Williams with Stewart being their backup option.

Instead, Jeremiah had Green Bay going with Kentucky cornerback Maxwell Hairston, despite Michigan’s Will Johnson, Texas’ Jahdae Barron and visitor Trey Amos of Ole Miss, still being on the board at the position. For reference, both Johnson and Barron are top-15 prospects on the consensus board while Hairston is ranked 34th.

Jeremiah predicted that both Johnson, who is falling due to the mix of injury concerns and lack of on-field testing, and Ole Miss defensive tackle Walter Nolen, who has effort concerns, falling out of the first round entirely. Earlier today, ESPN insider Peter Schrager had Nolen getting drafted all the way at 11th overall, which goes to show you how little consensus there is on these prospects beyond the top-end players.

Here’s what Jeremiah had to say about Green Bay’s projected selection of Hairston:

The Packers love SEC defensive players, and Hairston can really run. He battled through injury in 2024, but his 2023 tape is exceptional. With Jaire Alexander potentially on the move, Green Bay adds help at cornerback.

Hairston certainly is the type of cornerback that the Packers have historically targeted. More straight line track athlete than football player at this point in his career, Hairston has shades of Kevin King, Damarious Randall and Eric Stokes, former high draft picks by the team at the position.

At the combine, Hairston ran a 4.28-second 40-yard dash, the best of any player at the event. Following his testing, allegations of rape dating back to 2021 — which were apparently filed with Kentucky per screenshots posted by the accuser — resurfaced on social media. Due to Hairston being a minor at the time of the alleged incident, much of the information on the situation is sealed.
