- The Warriors won a back-and-forth battle against the visiting Toronto Raptors, but they lost Stephen Curry to a pelvic contusion in the second half. Jimmy Butler III’s game-sealing block and triple-double gave Golden State a second straight win and a 6-1 record at the conclusion of their seven-game homestand. They remain at No. 6 in the West, and are just two games back from Memphis in fifth.
- Bennedict Mathurin and Myles Turner led Indiana to a third straight win, defeating Brooklyn 105-99 in overtime. Mathurin (28 points) stepped up and drilled three clutch free throws with 14.2 seconds left to send the game to OT, where Turner (23 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks) denied any hope of a Nets comeback with a massive rejection. Indiana outscored Brooklyn 63-47 in the second half and overtime to earn a third consecutive victory. They play again on Saturday night in Indianapolis.
- DeMar DeRozan became the 27th player in NBA history to reach 25,000 career points. Top Storylines📝📌📈
- Golden State looks to stay hot when the Toronto Raptors pay a visit to the Chase Center. The Warriors are one game ahead of the 7th-seeded Clippers and 2.5 games back from the Grizzlies in fifth in the West. Toronto has lost two straight as they try to rebound with a win to close out their four-game road trip. They’re five games behind Miami for the tenth seed and final spot for the SoFi Play-In Tournament.
- The Los Angeles Lakers host the Milwaukee Bucks on the second night of a back-to-back while going for a fourth consecutive win. They’ll have to do it without Austin Reaves, though, who’s been ruled out tonight with an ankle injury. The Bucks have dropped two straight but defeated the Lakers by 20 last Thursday, even with Luka Dončić dropping 45 points and 11 rebounds.
- Pascal Siakam and the Indiana Pacers have won two in a row to move into fourth in the East, now a full game ahead of 5th-seeded Milwaukee. Tyrese Haliburton will miss a third straight game as he tends to a back issue, meaning Bennedict Mathurin will see an uptick in usage with the first unit.
