O’Reilly: ‘It feels like my dreams are coming true!’

The makeshift left-back scored in the Premier League for the second week in succession, opening the scoring in our final trip to Goodison Park after 84 minutes, poking in from close-range.

Mateo Kovacic slotted in City’s second in stoppage time to earn three more vital points to boost our quest for UEFA Champions League qualification.

O’Reilly, who is a boyhood Blue and has progressed through the ranks at the City Academy, spoke with CityTV in his post-match interview about how it felt to score such an important goal.

“I mean, my second Premier League goal, it’s an amazing feeling,” he declared.

“And it was an amazing feeling running over to the fans to celebrate. It’s crazy. It feels like my dreams are coming true.

“But it’s only the start. I need to keep going.

“I mean I’m enjoying it [playing left-back]. It’s a tough challenge adapting to that new position.

“But I’m just learning every day. I’m just glad I’m getting some game time.”

The Academy graduate also spoke about how patience was the key to breaking the Toffees down and touched on the race for a Champions League spot.
