Mikey’s got moves.
Oscar winner Mikey Madison hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend and cheekily responded to critics of her pole-dancing skills in her film “Anora.”
“I performed all my own stunts for the film, including all the dancing, so it does kind of bother me when people assume it wasn’t actually me on the pole, because it was,” Madison, 26, said during her opening monologue.

“I can prove it right now,” the actress added, as she walked towards a dancer’s pole.
The segment then cut to a muscular person in a brunette wig and Madison’s same sparkly black dress doing spread-eagle handstands on the pole.

Madison plays a New York stripper who marries the wealthy son of a Russian oligarch in “Anora.” The film, directed by Sean Baker, won five Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress for Madison.
Heading into the Oscars, Demi Moore was predicted to win Best Actress for her performance in “The Substance,” which won her a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

In her March 2 acceptance speech, Madison honored her fellow nominees — Moore, Karla Sofia Gascón, Cynthia Erivo and Fernanda Torres — and called her win “a dream come true.” She also took a moment to honor the sex worker community.
“Yes, I will continue to support and be an ally. All of the incredible people, the women that I’ve had the privilege of meeting from that community has been one of the highlights of this incredible experience,” she said.

During her “SNL” monologue, Madison said she had a “crazy month” after the Oscars, “so in April I’m going to bed.”
“As you can tell, I have a pretty relaxed vibe in real life, and I try to incorporate that into all my roles,” she said, as a highlight reel played of her in intense scenes in “Anora,” “Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood” and “Scream 5.”
“Just to clarify, those were two different characters who were lit on fire, and that’s range,” Madison added.

The “Better Things” star told the audience that “growing up, I never actually planned on being an actor.”
“When I was a kid, I was very proud, self-proclaimed horse girl,” Madison continued. “A horse girl is basically a nerd, but with long hair. I even did homeschooling so I could spend more time at the barn.”

After showing a photo of her couple’s costume with horse Thumbelina as a child, Madison said, “We were jailbirds arrested for the crime of stealing each other’s hearts. I know, it’s so hard to believe I was homeschooled, right?”
Madison’s “SNL” episode featured Morgan Wallen as the musical guest. The country singer, 31, walked off the stage before Madison finished closing out the show.
