The Detroit Pistons are a better team than the Washington Wizards. That’s an objective truth of the 2024-25 NBA season. That doesn’t mean the Pistons can’t lose to the Wizards. As the two teams face off for the second game in a row, you don’t have to reach back too far (last game) when the Pistons almost blew a big lead by letting the Wizards right back into the game, thanks to a messy second half.
However, the most interesting thing as these two teams play again today is not who will win or who will lose, it is whether these two teams are going to get into a physical altercation that leads to an ejection. The last game got quite chippy in a number of spots. There were five technicals between the two teams and Wizards big man Richaun Holmes was ejected for a pretty vicious elbow to Ausar Thompson’s jaw.
Lord knows that players like Isaiah Stewart and Ron Holland aren’t interested in backing down from anything or anyone. Hopefully, for everyone (including Stewart’s growing technical count), this is a nice, clean game that will lead to a Pistons victory.
