Protests planned across the Portland Metro region along with cities nationwide

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Groups in Portland, Hillsboro, Beaverton, and Tigard will likely join hundreds of cities nationwide in protests against the Trump administration, Elon Musk, and Doge on Saturday.

KATU has received notification about a handful of events taking place across the region and will be speaking to the Portland Police Bureau about their plans to maintain peace during the events.

KATU has reached out to event organizers in Portland and has not immediately received a response.

Portland Police Bureau (PPB) officials will hold a press briefing at 1 p.m. to discuss their plans for handling the protests. KATU will stream that press briefing on our website, Facebook, and YouTube pages.
