Forget all that Wednesday business. The real SEC Tournament starts today.
Tonight, Missouri tips off against Mississippi State in the second round of the SEC Tournament, which will put to bed one of the most competitive, thrilling seasons of Southeastern Conference basketball we’ve seen in quite some time. It’s saying something when our Missouri Tigers, winners of 21 games and a staple of the Top 25 for most of the season, finished seventh in the conference. That’s depth.
SB Nation polled the country and SEC hoops fans on who they think will walk away with the SEC Tournament title this weekend. And somewhat unsurprisingly…
Alabama’s season finale win over the Tigers likely put a damper on their perception to the country, but Bruce Pearl’s team is still the oddsmakers favorite. Reflecting the level of competition, six teams got votes, and I don’t think it would surprise anyone to see one of Kentucky or Texas A&M make a deep run.
