The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup has reached the quarterfinals, and Borussia Dortmund is still in it after defeating Monterrey on Monday. Their reward: a date with Real Madrid this afternoon in New Jersey.
Dortmund hopes that they can put together a complete match against the 15-time European champions (most ever) and the team with the most Club World Cups in history. To do that, they’ll need the production from their attackers and take some of the opportunities that present itself to score. They will also have to corral Madrid’s attack, which has a ton of stars who are capable of putting the game out of reach quickly. The winner stays in the New York-New Jersey area for a date in the semifinals, and the loser will head home to start the summer.
