Red Sox Vs. Braves Lineups: Boston Welcomes Chris Sale Back

The Red Sox and Braves aren’t off to ideal starts, and they’ll rely on their respective aces to get them on track Friday.

Boston is coming off on the wrong side of a series sweep against the Detroit Tigers, but it knows it can rely on Garrett Crochet for a quality start. The left-hander will face off against fellow southpaw Chris Sale. The reigning National League Cy Young winner is set to pitch his first game at Fenway Park since the Red Sox traded him for Vaughn Grissom last year.

Alex Cora will stick with Rob Refsnyder at right field and cleanup to combat the 2018 World Series champion. The Red Sox hope for better results Friday in their second matchup against a reigning Cy Young winner; it’s the first time in MLB history a team faced reigning Cy Young winners in back-to-back matchups.

Boston also shuffled its pitching staff before taking on Atlanta.

First pitch for the Red Sox-Braves matchup at Fenway Park is scheduled at 7:10 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN starting at 5:30 p.m.
