Red Sox vs. Braves Lineups: Lucas Giolito Starts Series Opener

The Boston Red Sox continue a six-game road trip Friday night when they open up a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.

Atlanta took two out of three games for a series win at Fenway Park two weeks ago. The Red Sox will not see old friend Chris Sale on the mound as they hope to return the favor against the Braves.

Boston also hopes to snap a five-game losing streak in the series opener. Lucas Giolito takes the ball for the Red Sox with Carlos Narvaez behind the plate, batting in the cleanup spot. Abraham Toro gets the spot at first base while Kristian Campbell slides down to the No. 8 spot at second base.

Ex-Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo gets the nod in left field for the Braves with Grant Holmes on the mound for Atlanta.

First pitch is set for 7:15 p.m. ET on Apple TV+.
