The Cincinnati Bengals are reportedly allowing defensive end Trey Hendrickson to seek a trade from the organization.Hendrickson, 30, is under contract with the Bengals through the 2025 season and has been angling for a contract extension since before last season. Hendrickson is aiming for more long-term security on his deal after a 2024 season that saw him lead the league with 17.5 sacks.According to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bengals granted the Pro Bowl edge rusher permission to seek a trade to another team.In four seasons with the Bengals, Hendrickson recorded 57 sacks, made the Pro Bowl each season and was a first-team All-Pro in 2024.After initially agreeing to a four-year, $60 million contract with the Bengals ahead of the 2021 season, Hendrickson signed an extension with the Bengals before the 2023 season to keep him in Cincinnati through 2025.According to Spotrac, Hendrickson is slated to make about $18 million in 2025 with the Bengals, if he were to enter the season on his current deal.San Francisco 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa ($34 million) and Cleveland Browns DE Myles Garrett ($25 million) are the league’s highest-paid defensive ends entering the offseason.Hendrickson seeking a trade comes as the Bengals enter a pivotal offseason, in which wide receivers Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase are also seeking new contracts.
