WWE legend Rey Mysterio is back for another WrestleMania match. Mysterio is slated to compete in a singles match against El Grande Americano.
It remains unclear if this could be Mysterio’s last WrestleMania match — and the match could be in jeopardy entirely after he suffered an injury on Friday night during a tag team match on SmackDown in Las Vegas. He turned 50 years old in December.
After Dragon Lee and Rey Fénix managed to pull off the victory against American Made, the duo quickly left the ring to check on Mysterio.
Mysterio needed assistance from athletic trainers to get back to the locker room. He couldn’t put weight on his left leg.
Fénix could be an option to replace Mysterio in the match. El Grande Americano appeared during the Andre the Giant battle royal on Friday night and caused Fénix to be eliminated.
El Grande Americano arrived on the scene in recent months. Coincidentally, his arrival happened around the same time Chad Gable decided to take a leave of absence to study the “dark arts of Lucha Libre.”
