Highlights! Gautier Debuts With Gnarly Knee KO
Ateba Gautier
Sheeeesh, Ateba Gautier (7-1) made quite an impression in his UFC debut by being the first fighter to crack Jose Medina’s ridiculous Bolivian iron chin, and he did so in style (watch highlights).
For a UFC newcomer, Gautier was flawless. He showcased his explosive power and diverse arsenal, from a piston-like jab that snapped Medina’s head back with every connection to vicious uppercuts and lightning-fast high kicks that came out of nowhere.
It was a perfectly timed knee that ultimately dropped Medina, a moment that’s sure to make grapplers think twice.
Questions will linger about Gautier’s ground game, but until it’s tested, his future opponents have plenty to fear.
Yes, Medina may be the worst middleweight on the roster, but that’s not Gautier’s burden to bear—he was offered a contract, and he seized the opportunity.

Here’s UFC Mexico’s Must-Watch Prospect This Weekend
If you happened to check out my prospect to watch at UFC Mexico, I was very high on David Martinez (12-1), and boy, oh boy, did he deliver an impressive performance.
Martinez knocked Saimon Oliveira out in the first round with a precise counter right, followed by a relentless barrage of strikes and brutal ground-and-pound (watch highlights).
The elusiveness of the “Black Spartan” frustrated the Brazilian, who struggled to find his target throughout the brief duration of the fight. Martinez also employed his notorious kicks effectively, maintaining distance while inflicting damage, and he looked exceptional in the process.
Martinez’s takedown defense proved solid, thwarting the few attempts Oliveira made to bring him to the mat.
The doctor-turned-UFC fighter was flawless in his debut, earning him a perfect score.
