RuneScape: Dragonwilds Early Access is Live, With New Narrative Trailer and a Dev Roadmap | MMORPG.com

RuneScape: Dragonwilds is now in Early Access, and Jagex has a narrative trailer and a roadmap to give a peek ahead for the RuneScape universe title..

If you missed the big reveal, the game is set on Ashenfall, a mysterious continent in Gielinor where dragons have awoken. As a result of this, part of your journey will consist of a quest to slay the Dragon Queen.

Of course, it’s an open-world fantasy survival crafting game, so you will have many skills to learn, as well as things to craft and build, before you get that deep into any potential dragon queen slaying. You’ll have to craft gear, make potions, and do a bunch of skilling up to face the dragons, and you’ll do it with a special new force.

Anima is going to be the source of your power and abilities here, as Ashenfall is rich in it, and the landscape has been ravaged by it. It’s going to be the source of significant power for you (and others you may team up with since the game supports 1 -4 player co-op play) Through its use you’ll learn spells that will allow you to do things like explode ore veins or even chop trees with a spectral axe that you learn to conjure.

Early Access is the beginning of further development and they promise that the community’s role will remain central.

Along with today’s debut in Early Access which you can get in on for £24.99/ $29.99 / €29.99 on Steam, The team held a livestream and released a new roadmap. Among the featured reveals are Fellhollow, a new region described as “a location suspended between life and death”, ruled over by the soul-eater dragon Imaru who is opposed by Death (who is also your guide). One RuneScape tie, and more to come.

The roadmap also includes new skills and a category “RuneScape Roots”, with new quests, lore, gear, and music. Future content will also include hardcore and creative modes, new vaults, eventual raised skill caps, lesser dragons to confront and much more.
