NORTHERN MICHIGAN (WPBN/WGTU) — The National Weather Service in Gaylord issued an Ice Storm Warning until 11 p.m. Sunday evening for several counties across Northern Michigan.
The Eastern Upper Peninsula is currently under a Winter Storm Warning until 6 a.m. Monday morning, with conditions of snow and sleet but no freezing rain.
For Alpena, Montmorency, and Otsego counties: Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible.
For Cheboygan, Emmet, and Presque Isle counties: Significant ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs may cause widespread and long-lasting power outages. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible.

Most of the Upper Peninsula can expect a lull in wintry precipitation, but then heavy snow and a wintry mix. Heaviest snow totals look to be across the Keweenaw, western, and north-central UP.
The National Weather Service warns of significant icing with additional snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations up to one tenth of an inch.
As of 7:30 a.m. Saturday there are power outages being reported across northern Michigan.
Presque Isle Electric & Gas has about 7,500 customers without power.
Great Lakes Energy has about 430 active outages.
Consumers Energy has about 815 customers dealing with power outages.
