Fenway Park has canceled back-to-back shows scheduled for Thursday and Friday, just hours before the summer concert series was set to begin.
The statement from Fenway Concerts reads: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Shakira and Jason Aldean and Brooks and Dunn performances originally scheduled for May 29th and May 30th respectively at Fenway Park have been canceled. Refunds will be available at your point of purchase. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
The concerts were the first two shows in the 2025 Fenway Concert Series. Shakira was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. May 29 and Jason Aldean and Brooks & Dunn were scheduled to perform starting at 5:30 p.m. May 30.
Tickets were sold out for the Shakira show via Ticketmaster late Thursday afternoon. There were very few tickets left for the Jason Alden and Brooks & Dunn concert via StubHub and Tickets-center.com on Thursday.
How to get a refund?
Ticketmaster, which is operated as a subsidiary of Live Nation, has announced that people who purchased tickets to see Shakira tonight will receive a refund within 14-21 days, according to a statement on their website.
The company says ticketholders do not need to take any actions. Live Nation is working with Fenway Park to put on the concert series.
Details can be found on their website.
