GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WFIE) – UPDATE: The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office has closed Oakland City to all non-local traffic.
They say this includes Indiana State Road 64 through town.
Emergency personnel and local residents are allowed to enter the area.
Officials say it is an active scene from Saturday morning’s storms.
Oakland City will be closed until further notice.
PREVIOUS: Sheriff Bruce Vanoven confirms damages from severe weather have been reported in Oakland City and Francisco.
Officials say they have begun setting up a perimeter around Oakland City, and they are only allowing emergency vehicles and locals through.
Sheriff Vanoven says a a gas station and trailer was affected in Oakland City, and several homes were hit in Francisco.
He also says there have been reports of trees down across the Tri-State.
As of 4:00 a.m., there have not been any reports of any injuries, but we will keep you updated.
