Team news: Arteta names same side that beat Real

Mikel Arteta has named the same team that started our 3-0 first leg success against Real Madrid for the return game in the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu tonight.

The boss has rewarded all 11 players who took to the field at Emirates Stadium eight days ago with another start against the Champions League holders, as we aim to follow up on that display with another good performance to book a spot in the semi-finals against Paris Saint-Germain.

That means that Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber, Mikel Merino and Myles Lewis-Skelly return to our side, having been rested for Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Brentford.

Ben White is back in the matchday squad after missing that game with a knock, but Jorginho drops out through injury. Michal Rosiak is named on our first-team bench for the first time in his career.

As for Real Madrid, they’ve made two changes to their line-up for tonight. One of those was enforced, and Aurelien Tchouameni replaces the suspended Eduardo Camavinga.

Luka Modric drops to the bench, and that allows Federico Valverde to move into the centre of the park, with Lucas Vazquez coming in at right-back.

Jude Bellingham, Vincius Junior and David Alaba were rested for Sunday’s 1-0 success against Alaves but as expected return tonight.
