Stefon Diggs Injury Update After Reported Deal With Patriots

Stefon Diggs will have a big impact in 2025 after his reported three-year, $69 million deal with the New England Patriots.

That’s if he’s healthy for the start of the season and can stay healthy.

The star receiver tore his ACL during a Week 8 matchup between the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts. Diggs had another productive season to that point with just under 500 yards and three touchdowns at the time of the injury. He took a physical during his visit to New England with the Patriots last week and early updates are positive for Diggs’ future status.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter followed up his report of the deal Tuesday with a note that Diggs “is on track to return for Week 1 of the upcoming season” for New England. Mike Giardi of Boston Sports Journal added that he “was told (Diggs is) ahead of schedule” in his ACL recovery.

That would be great news for the Patriots to best maximize an highly-important second season of development for franchise quarterback Drake Maye.

In his fourth NFL stop, the top pass-catcher has the chance to shape another offense. If Diggs is ready to roll Week 1, the Patriots have a chance to overperform from the opening kickoff.
