(WNDU) – We’re getting widespread damage reports across Michiana after severe weather made its way through the area late Sunday afternoon.
We won’t know until the National Weather Service does an evaluation whether we are talking about damage caused by straight line winds or an actual tornado, but we had the perfect conditions for twisters for much of the afternoon.
One of our photographers captured the aftermath in Elkhart in the area of Sterling Avenue and Bar Street, where a building appears to have been crushed in the storm.
We are also getting tons of reports of downed trees. some of which fell onto houses and are covering roads.
