Nintendo surprised fans today by announcing a Nintendo Direct airing tomorrow, March 27, just under one week ahead of its planned Switch 2 event next Wednesday, April 2. As such, this event will not include any updates related to Nintendo Switch 2 but will focus squarely on the current Switch.
According to Nintendo, the Direct features “30 minutes of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch.” The presentation airs tomorrow morning at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET.
With the Switch 2 getting its big spotlight next week, one would have to assume tomorrow’s Direct will showcase what could be the final blast of dedicated Switch 1 titles. The biggest game likely to appear is Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, set to launch this year, but Nintendo’s first-party slate for 2025 is bare beyond that. That’s sure to change in a big way following the Switch 2 Direct next week, but it will be exciting to see what Nintendo has left for the current Switch.
