This is not a drill, Hollow Knight: Silksong is finally coming out this year. After eons of waiting, we have a launch window for what is easily one of the most highly anticipated indie and Metroidvania games of all time. It’s currently the most wishlisted game on Steam, but the 2025 launch window has been confirmed in the last place I thought it would be.

You might’ve missed it the first time round, but Hollow Knight: Silksong’s 2025 launch date was confirmed during the new Nintendo Switch 2 presentation. A flurry of game announcements flew past the screen, and among them was a brief glance at gameplay and confirmation of when we’ll finally be playing. I can’t quite believe it, but we’re as close to the Hollow Knight: Silksong release date as we’ve ever been.

Nintendo’s official Twitter accounts have also confirmed the launch window for the Metroidvania game, but as I write this the game’s Steam page is yet to be updated. The game’s release date is “to be announced” on Valve’s storefront, but I’d wager it’ll be coming to all platforms at the same time.
